India Post, under the Ministry of Communications, has invited online applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling 5,476 vacancies to the post of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) to be posted in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh postal circles through direct recruitment. The online registration process towards the same started on October 15, 2019 and closes on November 14, 2019.

Age Criteria And Fees

Candidates interested in applying for the post of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) through India Post Recruitment must have attained 18 years of age as on August 05, 2019 and not be more than 40 years (Gen), with relaxation (upper age limit) up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC categories.

Candidates must pay a requisite amount of Rs. 100 (GEN/OBC/EWS) as application processing fee through online (net-banking/debit/credit payment gateways) mode or Challan mode as detailed in the notification. However, SC/ST/PWD and Women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

Educational Criteria And Language Proficiency

Desirous candidates applying for the post of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) through India Post Recruitment must have passed SSC/Class 10 or equivalent with English and Mathematics from a recognised Board/Institute.

Candidates must be conversant with the local dialect of the circle/region they are applying for (Telugu and Hindi respectively), and must have a Basic Computer Training Course (sixty-days duration) certificate from a recognised Computer Training Institute established by law.

Applicants must have knowledge of cycling, or must be able to ride scooter or motorcycle.

Selection And Pay Scale

The selection of candidates as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) through India Post Recruitment will be done based on the marks obtained by the candidates in SSC/Class10 or equivalent.

Candidates selected as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) through India Post Recruitment will be paid emolument in the scale of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000 per month.
