IIT campus placement session now has moved onto IIT-Madras. About 89 offers were made on Day one with the average package of the students stands at Rs 85 lakh.
The offers were made in the 3 sessions on day one, including the six offers made during the graveyard session held on November 30.
As per the reports the session saw the presence of foreign placements. International profiles like Microsoft, Oracle, VISA and Google were amongst the top companies offering jobs. While Microsoft made three offers, Oracle, VISA and Google made one offer each.
Management consultants and computer science companies made 83 offers. Different companies across various sectors such as IT/software, analytics/consulting, finance, FMCG, teaching& research, Public Sector Units/Government sectors etc were also a part of the session. New entrants this year include Bloomberg, Dahlberg, Roland Berger, Wrig Nanosystems, FinMechanics and a few recent startups.
Few companies could not make it to the campus for placement sessions due to rains would hold interviews on Skype to complete the recruitment process. IIT-M has also reduced the 15-day recruitment process to 10 days due to Inter-IIT Sports Meet.
