IIM Kozhikode completes summer placement


Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode has completed summer placements for the 18 batch of its flagship PGP program in ten days' time, this being the quickest summer placements season in its history.

The season saw offers being made by 107 recruiters, which included 50+ new recruiters. The average monthly stipend witnessed a rise of 14% over last year's figure, and the number of offers per recruiter increased by 19%.

Top recruiters included Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HUL, and TAS, which together made 30 offers.New recruiters for summer placements included Apollo Hospitals, Axis Bank, CommonFloor, CRISIL, Dabur, DDB Mudra, eBay, Hector Beverages, Idea, iNautix, Maersk, Microsoft, Muthoot Group, Snapdeal, Titan, and Zee Media.

Finance firms made offers to 19% of the batch, with recruiters like Altisource, American Express, AxisBank, Citibank, CRISIL, Dell Financial Services, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, ICICI Bank, JPMorgan, and Nomura offering roles in corporate finance, investment banking, capital markets, asset management, risk analysis, and global investment research. Goldman Sachs picked 11 students for various divisions, while Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan selected 5 students each.

The Marketing & Sales domain saw 43% of the batch securing offers in companies such as Airtel, Arvind Lifestyle, Asian Paints, Britannia, Dabur, Godrej, GSK Pharma, Hector Beverages, HUL, Hirdware, Idea, Kellogg's, L'Oreal, Madura, Marico, Pidilite, Raymond, Tata Steel, Vodafone, and Zee Media. Pidilite and Vodafone made the joint highest number of offers (8 each), followed by Godrej (6), HUL (5), Kellogg's (5), and Philips (5).

More than 15% of the batch secured internships in Consulting and General Management roles offered by Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte, L&T, Mahindra, Muthoot Group, Reliance Industries, RPG Group, and TAS, among others. TAS selected 9 students from IIM Kozhikode, the highest number across IIMs. The Muthoot Group hired three students for corporate finance, and one student was picked for an exclusive project entailing laying down the strategy roadmap for potential new businesses.

Roles in logistics and operations were offered by Amazon, Apollo Hospitals, Asian Paints, Bosch, Flipkart, eBay, HCCB, Hero MotoCorp, Maersk, and Snapdeal. Companies including Capgemini, iNautix, Microsoft, TCS, and Wipro participated from the technology sector.
