The National Testing Agency (NTA), which has been vested with the authority to conduct various entrance examinations by the HRD ministry, are soon going to provide free coaching to NEET and JEE Mains along with other competitive exams. Through NTA's newly opened Test Practice Centres (TPCs) whose registration process is to begin soon, the agency is all set to take another step forward and assist the lakhs of aspirants to fulfil their dreams. This news also comes as a relief for parents who spend lakhs at coaching centres to prepare their children for these competitive exams along side sending them to numerous other states for advanced preparations.
Candidates who aim to appear for the exams such as JEE Main 2019, CMAT 2019, GPAT 2019 and UGC NET December 2018 can visit the official website of NTA to register to take a practice test in a TPC. The student registration will start on September 1, 2018.
According to the official sources, over 2697 test practice centres are going to be set up across the country to help students get familiar with the pattern of the competitive entrance exams along with the computer-based exam. The HRD ministry has also announced that the TPCs will be established in the rural areas to help students from remote areas.
The official statement released by the NTA on August 24 reads, "Schools/engineering colleges with computer centres are being made available on every Saturday/Sunday starting from September 1, 2018, and any student can use the facility free of charge."
It also reads that the TPCs will have a downloaded Computer Based Test (CBT) which will be similar to the actual test. The practice tests will help the candidates get familiar with logging into the system, going through the detailed instructions regarding the test, using of a mouse or numeric keyboard on screen (virtual) for attempting each question and others.
The HRD ministry has formed NTA to conduct entrance exams such as UGC NET, JEE (Main) and NEET (UG), which were earlier conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
