DU To Launch Cyber Security And Law From 2018

Delhi University (DU) will soon be launching a postgraduate diploma in Cyber Security and Law to train professionals with practical handling of the issue. According to reports, the programme caters to the niche domain of cybersecurity with a unique combination of cyber laws.


The course is likely to start from February next year and classes will commence from March. The course will be held in two semesters with six papers in each.The programme intends to produce professionals who can administer security for varied virtual platforms, banks, social media, industrial applications, mobile data, and cloud interface.

DU To Launch Cyber Security And Law

This course will be offered by the Department of Operational Research, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Commerce. Meanwhile, Delhi University's central library has put out a notice stating that the students from the School of Open Learning (SOL) will not be allowed to use the central library located at the Arts faculty in north campus.

The university said it has received approval from the statutory bodies to start the course. "This programme caters to the niche domain of cybersecurity with a unique combination of cyber laws," said DU registrar Tarun Das. With this programme the university intends to move into the domain of teaching and research in cybersecurity and allied disciplines, Das said.

The university said the new programme addresses the dire need of professionals in the domain of cybersecurity and intends to produce professionals capable of administrating the end to end security for varied virtual platforms and websites, banks and financial intermediaries, social media platforms, industrial applications, mobile data and cloud interface as forefronts.

"The course is well equipped to cater the needs of industry for employment as well as entrepreneurship opportunities," the registrar said.
