Central Sanskrit Universities Bill 2020 Passed In Parliament

The Central Sanskrit Universities Bill, 2020 was passed by the Parliament in the Upper House, i.e., Rajya Sabha. Earlier, the Lok Sabha had already passed the Bill in December 2019. The Bill will make three existing Sanskrit universities - Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi, and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Tirupati into Central Sanskrit Universities.

Ministry of HRD has tweeted that "Central #Sanskrit University Bill, 2019 which grants Central University status to 3 deemed universities, namely Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan & SLBS Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha in Delhi and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha in Tirupati was passed in the Rajya Sabha yesterday."

It also tweeted, "These three institutions will play a significant role in the conservation, promotion and development of Sanskrit with enthusiasm, energy and determination."

The Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' thanked the Members of both the Houses for their support in passing the Bill. The newly formed three Central Universities will have more opportunities to spread the knowledge of Sanskrit language across the country in a better way.
