CBSE To Hold Exams In August For Students Not Happy With Evaluation Criteria

The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) will hold an improvement exam from August 15 to September 15, 2021, for students who are not happy with the results they received based on internal assessment. The dates are tentative and are subject to the COVID-19 requirements, according to a document submitted to the Supreme Court.

CBSE To Hold Optional Exams For Class 12 In August

The Supreme Court was hearing a case concerning the cancellation of class 12 board exams for students taking compartmental exams, NIOS, or repeaters. Furthermore, it was decided that students enrolled in regular mode who are dissatisfied with their assessments and prefer to take written exams will be given the option.

Those who intend to take written tests must first register online. This facility will be available online through CBSE's official website, cbse.nic.in.

CBSE has already instructed schools to begin the computation procedure in order to prepare the results. The board has requested each school to form a five-member result committee, which will be led by the principle. The committee will prepare and upload the results with the assistance of IT staff. A portal for uploading marks will be activated on June 21. The results will be announced on July 31.

The CBSE has already published the detailed evaluation criteria for class 12 students. The board will assign the maximum weightage to the 12th exams, which include pre-boards, unit tests, or mid-terms, in the evaluation. This will be a criterion for theoretical assessment only and will be consisting 80 marks.

The board has allotted 20 marks to this section in the practical tests. Changes to the practical marks will be made accordingly where theory is for 70 marks. This year, no merit list will be issued.

In case of a disagreement over the computation of the board result, the CBSE specified that it should be referred to a committee to be formed by the board. According to the affidavit, CBSE will provide an online registration facility for optional exam registration; however, the marks in the optional exam will be treated as final marks.
