CBSE Class 10 And Class 12 Annual Exams To Resume In Delhi

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the urgent press note regarding the fresh exam dates for Class 10 and Class 12 annual examinations in Delhi. The Board has also stated that the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for North East Delhi would be conducted as per schedule from March 2, 2020, having been postponed from February.

Why Did CBSE Postpone Board Exams 2020 In Delhi?

The official notice reads, "The CBSE annual board exams are being conducted from 15th February onwards all over country and abroad. In North Eastern part of Delhi, the board exams of classes X and XII were postponed on 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th February 2020, due to unavoidable circumstances."

It also reads, "The Board is of the view that further delay in conducting Classes XII examinations may hamper the chances of admissions in professional courses i.e. medical, engineering, law and other UG admissions. Few entrance examinations are conducted in accordance with the timelines fixed by the Hon'ble Courts and therefore dates are sacrosanct. Similarly, JEE (Main) is also scheduled from 3rd April, 2020 to 19th April, 2020."

The CBSE board has also communicated about the fresh exam dates of Class 10 and Class 12 for students belonging to the North East part of Delhi.

The official statement reads, "CBSE is prepared to hold examinations at a later date for such candidates who would not be able to appear for the examinations upto 07.3.2020. The school Principals have been requested to provide the list of such students to the Board who are not able to appear in the exams to be conducted upto 7th March, 2020.
