CBSE Class 12 Objective Criteria For Evaluation

In the official press release, CBSE stated that the students will be assessed on the basis of well-defined objective criteria. It shared that students who are happy with the marks allotted in this way will be given the option to appear for the board examination at a later date. Meanwhile, there is confusion among students about what the objective criteria for class 12 evaluations might be.

CBSE Objective Criteria: Suggestion for Class 12 Evaluation

  • According to sources from the government and many reports, there are various options to determine the criteria for evaluating the results of the Class 12 board examination. There are reports that the students may be awarded marks based on their previous years' scores.
  • This may include student's marks and performance in Class 9 to 11.
  • Some reports suggest that CBSE should include board results for Class 10th and internal assessment marks for Class 11 and 12 to facilitate Class 12 evaluation.
  • Another way to evaluate the result of CBSE Class 12 may be based on the internal examinations conducted by Class 12 schools, pre-boards as well as board practical examinations.

According to most of the experts, using class 11 marks may be agreeable, but Class 9 and 10 may not be the objective criteria for evaluating students. One of the reasons cited by many was the change in the subjects chosen by the students.

"Assessing students based on their performance in Math and Science when they excel in languages would not be appropriate. At this point, it is not only ensuring a strong system for recording internal assessment but also ensuring that students are given a fair choice and assessed holistically," said Ms. Rai, Principal AIS.

However, the actual evaluation criterion is expected to be released soon by the CBSE on the website cbse.gov.in. In the meantime, students are advised to be patient and focus on their competitive exams.
