One of the prestigious medical institutes in the country, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), has rescheduled the dates of basic registration for AIIMS Postgraduate (PG) entrance examination for July 2019 session. The basic registration date for the AIIMS PG July session is to start from October 18.
In an official announcement, AIIMS mentioned that ''Due to unavoidable circumstance, the Basic Registration process for MD/MS/MDS July 2019 session onwards has been rescheduled.''
The notification also added, ''Those candidates who have completed Basic Registration for the January 2019 session, and their status of Basic Registration has been accepted, they do not require to fill Basic Registration again. They are eligible to fill the Final Registration of July 2019 session and subsequent session.''
AIIMS PG entrance exam will be held twice a year in the months of January and July. The registration process for the AIIMS PG January had started in August 31, 2018. The exam is scheduled to be held on November 18. The registered candidates can download the admit cards in the first week of November.
AIIMS PG is conducted for admission to MDS programmes for approximately 499 MD/MS seats in Basic Clinical and Clinical Sciences. Apart from the main campus of AIIMS in Delhi, the admission is also carried for other AIIMS colleges spread across the country.
In order to apply for the AIIMS PG entrance exam, candidates should satisfy all the prerequisites set by the institute. An aspirant should have an MBBS degree with a minimum of 55 per cent in aggregate for MD/MS. The BDS degree is required for MDS from a recognised institute. However, candidates should also complete one year of rotating internship for the admission.
