AICTE Collaborates With IBM To Skill Students Through NEAT 2.0 Platform

Tech giant IBM has collaborated with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to provide skill-based training courses in the tech sector and enable students with future-proof skills through the recently launched National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 2.0 platform.

The Ministry of Education (MoE), in association with the AICTE, launched the NEAT 2.0 platform on 16 February 2021 to provide the best technology courses including the courses on Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, Quantum Computing, and Data Science that will upskill the youth as well as faculty and enhance the employability of the students, said the statement issued by AICTE.

"The NEAT 2.0 portal uses technology to offer the finest industry courses that help students experience versatile and more personalised learning, skill development, and better learning results. There is a need to make the education system more students driven and we are acquiring industry experts like IBM, with their Skills Academy Courses, to deliver good content directly to students and institutes. This initiative is a major step towards growing employability and business ventures that will lead to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and will acquire progressive changes to digital learning in India," said Prof. Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe, Chairperson of AICTE.

IBM will offer six courses on the NEAT platform from IBM's Skill Academy as part of the partnership. The Academy will provide a world-class training and certification program designed to bridge the skills gap of students in colleges and institutes across the world, the statement said.

The students and teachers will experience more enriched learning skills and the students will also get an IBM Digital Certification after completion of the course, read the statement.
