Primary school at sub-center campus of Pune University

If everything goes according to the plan, university of Pune will soon open the primary school in the campus of its sub-center at Shivnai along Dindori Road.

The university is just waiting for the green signal from the government of the state, and once the signal turns from red to green, the varsity will launch the project.

Sub-center of Pune Varsity will get primary school

In a meeting, recently, a proposal was passed by the university, for starting a primary school for children of villagers who gave their lands for University of Pune's independent sub-center at Nashik.

Currently, Pune university has its sub-center located at Palika Bazaar in Canada Corner, which is on rent. But the university is not happy with the infrastructure and facilities of the rented sub-center, so the varsity decided to have sub-center of its own with better infrastructure.

"We decided to have a school for children of the villagers who gave their land for the sub-center. We have sent the resolution to the state government for approval. The vice-chancellor is also very positive about it, but the process will take some time. The medium of instruction has not been decided yet but it will be primary school managed by the university," says,Milin Wagh a senate member.

The land acquisition is yet to be completed and that would take some more time. "In one year, all technicalities will be over. We have been trying to expedite the process since the past 2-3 years and it gained momentum only this year. In a year or two, something concrete with respect to the sub-center will happen," he added.
