Protest at RGIT
The students of RGIT followed suit on September 20, demanding better toilets and the freedom to sit anywhere in the campus during their free time. On Friday, they resorted to a two-hour "sit-in" and gave the management a three-page letter listing their grievances, including shortage of books in the library, fees being collected without receipts for examination hall tickets and sports day T-shirts, harassment by the college security and other staff, and a cramped cafeteria.

 

"The college had five working days a week last year. This year, they made Saturday a half-day, which is unacceptable. Even the way the college authorities behave with students and parents is intolerable. We deserve basic facilities at least, like a wash basin in every toilet," said a student
