Indian Universities In The Global Ranking Of Academic Subjects 2018

201-300The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2018 was released a couple of days ago by the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. Since 2009, the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has been publishing the rankings of academic subjects. The rankings were released for a total of 54 subjects across 5 fields, namely, natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences.

The universities from the United States take 35 positions amongst the 54 subjects and is followed by China and the Netherlands with 9 and 3 subjects, respectively. The top-performing universities are Harvard, which has occupied 17 positions, out of which 9 are from social sciences subjects, 4 from medical sciences, 2 from life sciences and 2 from engineering streams, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which has topped the list in 5 different subjects.

Many Indian universities have been listed in GRAS 2018 across natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences. The rankings were carried for a total of 22 disciplines in engineering. Here are the Indian universities that stand tall in five engineering streams (mechanical, electrical & electronics, computer science, civil and chemical) in GRAS 2018.
