The vacancies in SBI attracts many job aspirants because of its best offering in salary and benefits. The SBI Junior Associate(also known as Clerks) notification was released by the bank in January and scheduled the exam in the month of March/April 2018 (tentatively).
We know that this is the time for aspirants to enhance all their skills to clear the exam. In order to assist you better, we planned this item focusing more on the Preliminary. The Preliminary is just a screening round and marks gained here will not be considered for the final selection.
A total of three sections are there in the Preliminary test, namely English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability with 30, 35 and 35 marks allotted for them, respectively. The duration of this test is one hour. Let's closely explore each section one by one.
This is a daunting section to many aspirants specifically who are from the non-English background. What they need to understand, this section is equally important and a minimum score is required to clear the round one. Aspirants should focus more on the important topics such as cloze test, spotting errors and sentence improvement in the last month.
There will be a reading comprehension in the exam and the bank has increased the level of the questions in the recent times. Aspirants are advised to solve the antonym & synonym first in the reading comprehension. If time permits go to the other questions. One should solve at least 22 questions out of 30 in this section.
This section also scares many aspirants because it always asks requires accurate answers. One has to keep all the formulas on their fingertips to crack the questions in less time. One has to practice in such a way that the question to be solved without using the pen and paper. The surds and powers, ratios, percentages and BODMAS are the most important topics in the simplification. One should memorize all cubes and squares upto 25, which will make the job easier while answering the questions related to the series.
The data interpretation is one of the important topics in the numerical ability and requires a lot of calculation. Sowork on your speed in this last month. Aspirants should practice at least 5 types of questions on each day related to data interpretation. Focus on a few topics in this last month such as time & work, boats & streams, simple & compound interest and averages & mixtures.
The arrangement & pattern, coding & decoding, inequalities and syllogisms are the most important topics in this section. If you are confident in these four topics, you have the chances of clearing the exam. The blood relations, analogy, classification, series, ordering & ranking and directions & distances are very simple topics to crack. However, never neglect these topics because at least five questions may appear.
Aspirants should be more careful about the seating arrangement and puzzles because it will take more than three minutes to crack the trick. If you got the trick in less than two minutes, you can go forward. Aspirants should practice attempting the straight questions first particularly in this last month. And put the data sufficiency questions at last because it will take more time to crack.
