How To Prepare For The IBPS RRB Quantitive Aptitude In One Month

It is high time for the aspirants of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to get serious as the Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) online preliminary examination is going to start in less than a month. It is known to all the aspirants that the online preliminary examination will be conducted only for Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and Officers Scale-I.

Only candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam are eligible to take the main examination and an interview. The preliminary exam consists of two sections, namely, reasoning and quantitative aptitude. This section is most important not only in the screening round but also in the main examination, which will be conducted in the month of September.

IBPS will never release the detailed syllabus for the examination. Hence, it is a tough job for aspirants to keep the boundaries. With a month left for the preparation, candidates should focus on the quantitative section to score well.

Know The Important Topics

We always suggest aspirants focus on the important topics first because it will help you score the minimum marks required. The most important topics in the quantitative aptitude are number series, simplification, data interpretation and quadratic equations. If you focus more on these topics, you will get more than 20 marks. On an average, around ten questions will be asked on data interpretation.

Explore All The Formats Of Questions

The most common mistake committed by the aspirants is not familiarising themselves with the format of questions. An aspirant should explore all the types of questions to score well. Aspirants are advised to pick up a book of their choice and start solving the practise questions.

Never Neglect The Data Interpretation

Out of 40 questions, over ten questions are asked based on data interpretation. Make sure you do not commit any mistake during the simplifications because it is a crucial area in data interpretation. Practise all the sets in the section such as pie charts, line graphs, bar graphs, missing DI and tabular graphs.

One should also be familiar with the topics such as ratio and proportion, percentages, profit and loss, averages, time and work, simple interest, compound interest, etc.

Focus Much On Practising

Practise is required specifically for the exams such as IBPS. One should not neglect to solve questions because this will help aspirants with speed. While practising, candidates should also focus on the accuracy besides speed. Never encourage the use of a calculator while practising. Also, practise solving the previous years' question papers.

At least One Mock Test Each Day

Taking a mock test is required to crack the examination. While taking the mock test, always stick to the time. Never forget to analyse which questions you got wrong. We suggest you take a mock test every week to assess your preparation level.
