What Is AMCAT?

Aspiring Minds Computer Aptitude Test (AMCAT) is an employability assessment test used by hundreds of private companies to assess the skills of job seekers. This standardised test is used to test the candidates on different types of skills which are required at the workplace.


AMCAT is a computer adaptive test which measures job applicants on areas such as quantitative skills, logical reasoning, communication skills and some job-specific domain skills that help recruiters to identify the right candidate. AMCAT is designed to test the candidate on personality traits and domain skills besides assisting job seekers in matching them with suitable jobs based on their performance on the test.

Candidates who hold a valid bachelors degree or above besides diploma can appear for AMCAT. There is no age limit to take the test and there is no restriction on the number of attempts. However, a minimum of three months rest period is required between two ACMAT attempts.

AMCAT Schedule

There is no fixed schedule for AMCAT examination. The test is conducted in over 30 cities across the country in various slots. The test is usually conducted on Saturdays and Sundays which is more convenient for working professionals besides students. The frequency of the test is based on the city. For instance, the test is conducted frequently in Bangalore city, which is home to thousands of IT firms.

AMCAT Exam Pattern

This employability assessment test is a computer-based format. The duration of the test is three hours and comprises of five modules. The total number of marks is 3600. The three modules are compulsory for everyone and a candidate can select the other two from various options. The compulsory modules are logical ability, quantitative ability and English. The optional can be picked by a candidate based on their interest or field they are targeting.

Post AMCAT Exam

Candidates who have taken AMCAT test can download their scorecard from the official website and the same will be forwarded to the companies. After assessing the score, skill test and academic qualifications, the companies will contact the candidates regarding the job opportunity. The test-takers can even attach the scorecard to their resumes and attend interviews which surely gives them an added advantage.
