CSIR UGC NET June 2019: 8 Things You Need To Know Prior To The Online Registration

CSIR has released the exam schedule for UGC NET 2018. The exam will take place on December 16, 2018. Online applications will be accepted between September 25 and October 15, 2018.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the notification for the UGC NET June 2019. The CSIR UGC NET will be conducted on June 16, 2019. Online registration for the CSIR UGC NET 2018 will start from February 25. The last date for applying online is March 22, 2019.

 

The CSIR UGC NET is conducted for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for determining eligibility for appointment as Lecturer (LS) in the areas of chemical sciences, earth, atmospheric, ocean and planetary sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physical sciences. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam should possess an M.Sc or equivalent degree/integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST.

JRF Stipend

Candidates selected for the JRF through CSIR UGC NET will earn INR 25,000 per month as stipend for the first two years, excluding annual contingent grant of INR 20,000 per fellow that will be provided by the university/institution.

Difference Between JRF And Lecturer In CSIR UGC NET

Aspirants can apply either for JRF or Lecturer. If a candidate applies for JRF and fulfills the laid-down eligibility criteria for Lectureship, such a candidate will be considered for both JRF & LS. If a candidate is over-aged for JRF (NET), then he/she will be automatically considered for Lectureship (NET) alone.

The maximum age limit is 28 years for JRF (NET). The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/Persons with Disability(PwD)/female applicants and 03 years for OBC (non creamy layer) applicants. However, there is no upper age limit for Lectureship (NET).

    This is a single paper MCQ-based test that will be held in the morning and evening sessions. The test will be held in the subjects such as chemical sciences, earth, atmospheric, ocean and planetary sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences and physical sciences. The total number of marks will be 200. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

    The test booklet shall be divided into three parts (A, B & C) as per syllabus & scheme of the exam. Part A shall be common to all subjects and focus on general aptitude such as logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability. Part B consists of subject-related conventional MCQs. However, Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts.
