JEST Selection Procedure

Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to Ph.D/ Integrated Ph.D Programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience courses across various institutes. Candidates who registered for the JEST 2024 have to appear for the entrance exam to be conducted on 03rd March, 2024. 

Candidates who are preparing for PhD programme in Theoretical Computer Science have to focus on areas such as Analytical Reasoning and Deduction, Combinatorics, Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory and Principles of Programming.

In each of these areas, familiarity with the basics (including the necessary simple mathematics) is assumed. There are questions mainly of two types – requiring short answers as well as detailed problem-solving. 

Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2024 Counselling

Participating Institutes will conducted JEST 2024 Counselling Separately. The Institutes will produce a list of individuals who have been shortlisted for interviews based cut off. Once the applications  have been shortlisted, they will be contacted for an interview.

They will send out the interview dates and locations via email and SMS. Following the intweview process, candidates must attend counselling to guarantee their seats in their preferred college.

  • 10th Grade Mark Sheet & Certificate.
  • 12th Grade Mark Sheet & Certfificate.
  • Certificate or Domicile
  • Admit Card for JEST 2024
  • JEST 2024 Result
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Photograph in Passport Size.
  • Proof of Identification.
