CTET Selection Procedure

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) administers the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) at the national level. Candidates who pass the exam can apply for teaching positions in various Central & State Government Schools. As a result, the CTET Selection procedure consists of a single-stage OMR-Based Test worth 150 points. Continue reading for more information.

The CTET Certfiicate will remain valid for a lifetime.

Candidates who pass CTET Paper I will be qualified to teach classes 1-5, while those who pass Paper II will be qualified to teach courses 6-8.

Depending on the institution to which the candidate has applied, the final selection procedure for teaching positions may include an interview and / or document verification

Selection Procedure Of CTET 2024:

The CTET  is a qualifying examination used to determine candidate's eligibility for teaching positions in the country's government schools. CTET Paper I is for teaching grades I-V, whereas CTET Paper II is for teaching classes VI-VIII. They can also take both papers. Candidates who pass the exam are eligible to apply for teaching positions. Important information is provided below.

  • The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written exam and in order to qualify the written exam, candidates should score a minimum of 60% or above
  • Persons belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc.

    may get concessions from some schools as per their reservation policy

  • Once the candidates clear the CTET examination, they can apply to schools for the relevant teacher posts and undergo the selection procedure for appointment
  • The candidates who clear the CTET 2024 will be issued certificates, which can remain valid for appointment seven years from the date of announcement of the result
  • Once the certificate is received, candidates can apply in private and central govt. schools as and when there is an announcement of vacancies

Note:

All the candidates may note that qualifying the CTET exam would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

If the candidate who have qualified the exam but he/she is not satisfied with their scores may appear again for improving their scores. So, there is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET certificate.
