The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) is an all-India entrance examination conducted for admission to more than 150 engineering colleges in Karnataka under the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association (KUPECA). For admission to COMEDK Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET), candidates need to satisfy all the eligibility criteria.
COMEDK will be conducted on 10th May, 2020. The following shall be the eligibility criteria for Engineering and Architecture courses.
The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. are second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations recognised by the state/central government. The last two years of study shall comprise subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
The general merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks. It is 40% for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka. One should attain this percentage in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Electronics or Computer as one of the optional subjects. Candidates should note that any change made by AICTE will be adopted.
An attempt in the COMEDK test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list. The diploma candidates are not eligible to take the entrance test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
In order to seek admission to the B.Arch course, candidates should possess second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognised by the central/state government. One should also obtain at least 50% marks in aggregate; however, it is 45% for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka.
Candidates including all the reserved categories of Karnataka seeking admission to B.Arch shall pass the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), which is conducted by the Council of Architecture or JEE Paper 2. Qualification in NATA is subject to the candidate getting at least cut-off marks in two individual components and also getting at least the qualifying marks in aggregate.
There will be no entrance test for candidates desiring to get admission to the B. Arch Course. One who aims to seek admission to the B. Arch course shall submit a separate application for participation in the counselling.
