The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is offering a free online course on Geographical Information System (GIS) for Supply Chain Management. The course is being offered through the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) as part of the Indian Space Research Organisation's outreach program. The applications have been invited by the ISRO from the students and experts for the four days free online course.
The Geoinformatics Department of IIRS will be organising the course, and the experts and professionals from their respective fields will be delivering the content. ISRO has plans to offer niche internships to graduate students from top B-schools. The institute is likewise completely equipped for offering short-term in-house training on particular subjects. The course will start from 26 April 2021 to 30 April 2021.

A Geographical Information System (GIS) is a technology that captures, stores, visualise, analyse, and manipulates location-based data. GIS includes a wide array of technologies like satellite-based imaging, spatial science, location-based services, and information technology. The technology consists of a wide range of applications that have already found their way into cell phones and e-commerce deliverables.
A GIS-based Supply Chain Management (SCM) toolchain can enhance the effectiveness and profitability of a supply chain.
