JEE Main Exam 2021 News: Amid a rapid surge in the COVID-19 cases across the country pulsated by a second wave, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main 2021 for April Session that was scheduled to be held on 27, 28, and 30 April 2021.

Informing about the decision to postpone JEE Main 2021 April Session, Union Minister for Education Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted, "Given the current #covid19 situation, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the JEE (Main) - 2021 April Session. "I would like to reiterate that safety of our students & their academic career are @EduMinOfIndia's and my prime concerns right now," he added. The National Testing Agency (NTA) in an effort to support the student community is organizing the JEE Main 2021 in four sessions (four times) from February to May as proposed by the Ministry of Education. Two of these sessions have already been completed in February (Session 1: from 23 to 26 February 2021) and March (Session 2: from 16 to 18 March). The number of candidates who appeared in Session 1 is 6,20,978 and in Session 2 is 5,56,248 as recorded by NTA. However, with the JEE Main 2021 Postponed for April Session candidates are advised to use this time to prepare themselves better for the examination. They can also take practice (full length/ chapter wise) tests on the NTA Abhyas App from the comfort of their homes. With the JEE Main 2021 April Session Postposed, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has stated that the revised dates for the JEE Main 2021 April session will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination. Candidates can opt to appear once or all four times (from February to May) in JEE Main 2021 exam with the highest score of all the appearances being taken into consideration for the propose of ranking and admissions to various engineering and technical courses across 100 plus (107) premier institutions throughout the country including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 28 other government-funded technical institutes (Other-GFTIs).
