The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has invited online applications from eligible candidates for filling 169 Officer positions - 44 carry forward and 125 fresh vacancies under Group I Service cadre. The application process towards the same starts from 07 January 2019 and will close on 28 January 2019.
The recruitment will be for various positions under the State Services comprising Deputy Collectors, Assistant Commissioners, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil and Jails), District Fire Officers, Assist. Treasury and Accounts Officers, Regional Transport Officers, Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent, District Employment Officer, Administrative Officers and other Group I vacancies.
Candidates applying for various positions under State services must have attained 18 years of age as on 07 January 2019 and not exceeded 42 years. Those applying for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil) must have attained 21 years of age as on 07 January 2019 and not exceeded 28 years and candidates applying for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Jails) must have attained 18 years of age as on 07 January 2019 and not exceeded 28 years). Further, candidates applying for the post of District Fire Officers must have attained 21 years of age as on 07 January 2019 and not exceeded 26 years. However, relaxation (upper age limit) of 5 years and 10 years is granted for SC/ST/OBC candidates and PWD categories, respectively. Candidates are also required to deposit a prescribed fee of Rs 250/- towards the application processing and Rs 120/- towards the examination through online (net-banking, credit/debit payment gateways) mode only. SC/ST/OBC/PWD and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of only the exam fee. Candidates applying for various positions must possess a graduation/bachelor's Degree from a recognized University as specified against the relevant Group I Services in the notification. The selection of candidates under various services of the State will be done through a competitive examination conducted in three phases: Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) - MCQ format Mains Examination - Descriptive format Viva Voce - Oral Interview Candidates aspiring for various services must also meet the set medical and visual standards as detailed in the notification. Candidates selected under various services of the State will be paid an emolument in the scale starting from Rs. 35,120/ - Rs. 93,780/- per month depending upon the nature of service opted.
