Top Engineering Colleges in Chhattisgarh- Ranking 2013

Chhattisgarh has 50 engineering colleges and possibly due to the dominance of core sector firms, particularly steel, cement and power generation are the preferred choice of engineering branch is Mechanical, followed by Computer Science and Civil Engineering.

Over 60% of the colleges had top rankers of Entrance Examinations in Mechanical Engineering. None of the colleges had IT as the major choice.

Just one or two colleges offered courses in Aeronautical, Mining and Biotechnology. Through Chhattisgarh had opened up to private sector in early 2000, the presence of Private sector universities has been picking up only in the last few years.

Interestingly, the even distribution of colleges across different levels of ratings communicate a certain level of maturity in the education system.
