It plays a vital role in helping learners with their documents and daily academic schedules, on an individual basis. Keep a track of their programs and follow up with their responses. Check and meet the requirements specifically connected to each student's disability and their learning methods.

Group therapy.
Exercise having students with disabilities sit side-by-side with regular students, when they are working on assignments. Group work helps much. This kind of activity empowers student self-esteem and it helps them learn from each other, in a better way.

Each student.
As much as group therapy helps in the development of student's learning capability, it is equally essential to focus on each student in the class. Teaching each student would enhance the opportunity to learn and implement newer teaching strategies. Although every student is different, there is an in-built need for individualized teaching methods and for guidance.

Files and Docs handy.
Ensure that copies of lessons, tips, notes of a particular subject are provided to the students. Hand them the outlines of the topic. They do benefit from having copies of the documents and files. It makes it simpler for them to refer to it at the time of attempting their assignments.

Yes to breaks.
On a general scale, students with disabilities require extra time to attend to their work. Having sufficient breaks facilitates the process. Allow time for them to understand and get their work completed. Patience may help you well here.

Open mind.
Above all, as a special education teacher, it is good to embrace any responsibility with an open mind. You may be faced with different types of students who are disabled. Even so, being mentally prepared to face any challenge would be a great step for success. Use every tried and tested methods to keep up with your teaching spree.

Remember the above doable list of things and make it enjoyable.

Albeit, you need to take time for yourself, if you feel drained with your monotonous job. Deal with the emotional and mental stress by taking time for yourself. Do what you absolutely love and enjoy doing, after class hours. Prioritise your list of to-do things and make sure that some of them are not work-related.
