Accepting reality is the biggest challenge that one may have to accept and live with. The teachers/professors in the class may never know whom they are teaching. Perhaps, they may be teaching students today to see them become teachers tomorrow or some day.
Although the effectiveness of teachers more or less depend on the measures that may vary from state to state and across the country, helping them to master a steady framework of knowledge, skills and teaching principles to run with, would make their foundations strong.
Application of knowledge must be modelled to have some relevance in the real-world. The context of learning in today's real-world demands a lot of applied knowledge into the daily routine lifestyles of the learner.
Train them to understand the learners. In the modern era of meeting every individual's educational need, it becomes a concern to know and understand the learner in the best way possible. The universe has multiple types of learners with diverse learning capabilities embedded into them, to suit different living environments. As a teacher, it is his/her responsibility to identify the learner's needs and to cater to them accordingly.
Encourage apprentice teachers and provide opportunities for them to come forward, to lead and teach, by being a valuable resource to the learner. They've got to understand when to lead and when to follow.
Training initiatives and education programmes should be conducted on a regular basis, where teachers would get involved in various activities, being upgraded with latest innovations and trends.
Prepare candidates to think glocally(globally and locally). They need to have a multi-dimensional world-view about education, students, parents, technology and information.
Teach them to be flexible, ready and able to change with the evolving system as and when required. They should be adaptive to better and more productive methods of delivering results, with the available resources.
And most importantly, you must shape them up to accept and practice methods of learning which are ultimately society-oriented.
Depending on the teachings they imbibe today, learners would be able to become efficient and effective educators who build education for the future learners.
