6 ways you can be a positive influence on your students

When you have chosen to educate children, then you certainly have a big responsibility. Being a teacher that the students would remember all their lives, for having been positively influenced by you; would be an achievement.

Here are 6 ways you can be a positive influence on your students:

1) Be positive:
If you are to influence someone else to be positive, then it should begin with you. You have to be positive to be able to speak, act and spread positivity.

2) Gain respect:
It is important that the students respect you. Otherwise, they will never take a word you tell them, no matter how important or motivating it is. How to gain respect? Respect your students for who they are, help them genuinely when they require you. They will automatically start looking up to you.

3) Build rapport:
You cannot be that strict teacher with a cane stick and expect students to come up to you with their problems. You have to build rapport with each student, identify their strengths and weakness, and guide them along.

4) Inspire:
Accomplish your goals, set this as an example for the students to follow their dreams and help them keep up their determination.

5) Be a dependable person:
You have to be approachable, you have to be understanding, at the same time you have to be smart enough to deal with the obstacles the students come up with.

6) Be the knowledge bank:
It takes more than just positives sentences, to have a positive influence on your students. You have to take that extra efforts, you have to be the knowledge bank. Wisdom must be your possession. You will be able to inspire them.
