Obtaining admission to a postgraduate engineering programme in the US, an undergraduate degree in engineering is required by most of the schools. A math or science degree may be accepted by some universities.

 

Some postgraduate programmes in the US asks students to be familiar with basic core engineering theories. If you are not comfortable with them, you could complete remedial courses along with your postgraduate programme.

If you are planning to continue engineering studies by earning a postgraduate degree in the US, you have to prove that your undergraduate degree is an equivalent degree to an accredited institution in the US.

Applicants to the postgraduate engineering programme require an official record of past studies, a letter of reference, a personal essay. The candidate should also have passed English language proficiency test like TOEFL and some programmes may require qualifications in GRE.
