Post Graduate in Management with IT & Marketing. Started my textile career with one of the leading textile organization M/s. The Arvind Mills Ltd – Ahmedabad & worked in various capacities for almost more than 10 yrs .
Started in the denim domestic -fabric sales – as Marketing Executive – SALES & MARKETING.(1996-1998 ]. In this capacity I was assigned to Service, handle & cater all the high end domestic denim brands [ Gold Club Customers ].
This position needed a team to be stationed in Mumbai to understand the customer’s requirement on hand & service them accordingly. We as a team were selling a total of almost 5.0 lac to 5.50 lac mts . of denim fabric in this particular segment . With our effort we achieved a rating of A+++ status as a denim fabric supply vendor in all the major / minor domestic denim brands in the country. In this capacity I was reporting into General Manager –Sales & Marketing. During this tenure in Mumbai office I have also serviced the Trade & Dealer Channels for this region.
Sales & Marketing Manager – Botomweights Domestic fabric Marketing.
During the tenure I have serviced all the major domestic garments brands ,all the different channels of fabric trade in domestic markets including direct retail & also all the garment exporters , international brands , buying offices in India . In this tenure of my working as Key account manager, I along with my team were selling almost 5.50 lac mtrs. to 7.0 lac mts. of bottom weight fabric every month in domestic market through the various channels of fabric trade.
In this capacity I have reported into General manager – Sales & Marketing, President – Bottom weight Business Division.
From : 2002-to 2005 I always had a desire to go up the value chain & hence I shifted myself in the Garment package division in the organization as Manager – Business Development & was servicing all the private labels , major brands & Retail Chains in domestic & Exports for garment package [Shirts weights & Bottoms weights ]
During this tenure I have headed a private label category [ in – house brand ] which was launched by us & I was responsible for the entire supply & value chain till retailing.
This opportunity of handling the package business & heading a private label gave me an good understanding of domestic retail & branding business of garments.
I used to Develop & execute competitive account plans (for EBO’s, MBO’s and Chain stores) to maximize growth opportunities and achieve revenue, profitability, inventory and receivables targets. Other than this we use to Gather, analyze and distill data on consumers, retailers, competitors and brands into intelligence that informs/enables new business/ accounts developments, annual and monthly sales forecast and effective management of existing accounts. I used to Manage and facilitate effective customer/trade relationships through detailed execution of agreed service offers and trade terms & Be a single point of contact for the channel partners. Left the organization as Sr. Manager Business Development – [ Garment Package & Institutional Business ] on Nov – 2005 . to join the present assignment .
Apart from the above – I have always been the key person to handle the institutional business for the organization. I was the single point contact for all the institutional business for all the products lines & category ie: [ Denim , Bottom weights , shirting ,Knits ,fabrics & Garments ]
In this business I have developed & have serviced all the major government institutions , MNc’s , Large scale public & private organizations for supply of utility wear/Specialty wear & Finish fabrics & garments .
All the business thru tender participations for uniform supplies in domestic & exports were also been taken care by me . Looking at the huge scope of profitability at the bottomline in this supplies / tendering segment I took the initiative to start this particular business segment in the organization & was handling a business size of almost 20 crs/anum ..
Head – Business Development From Dec 2005 to Sept – 2008 :
worked with M/s. Munir Marketing – on profit sharing basis & look after the complete business operations right from planning the business till complete execution & further co- ordination for the respective business lines.
In this we were in the business of manufacture & trading of Grieg fabric in various counts , Piece Dyed fabrics , Specialty Finish Fabrics , Institutional/utility fabric , Uniform fabrics. These all were made in house & were sold in the domestic market. Apart From the above we also used to make garments for domestic sale & direct export orders in the form of garment packages. We run a leased garment factory of 120 machines for woven garments in Ahmedabad where we convert package garments orders for domestic & international brands .
From October 2008 onwards :
Presently working as Head- Sales & Marketing with Forbes Brand Ltd. [ a div. of Gokak Textiles Ltd. ] Banglore since October 2008 .
I m looking after the entire sales & marketing of all the brands of this organization along with the the value added textile divison.
Forbes brands has the presence in knitted garments, value added yarn dyed fabrics for high end garmenting & retailing. Apart from these Forbes Gokak has a major presence in industrial fabric & Technical fabrics . Different technical & high end finished fabrics for non conventional & conventational use are supplied by us across the globe.
