IIT Hyderabad conducts course on Foundations of Predictive Analytics

The Computer Science and Engineering Department of Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad has announced that it will conduct a five-day certificate course on Foundations of Predictive Analytics from June 18 (Wednesday) to 22 (Sunday), 2014.

This hands-on course aims to cover fundamental topics in predictive analytics using Excel miner. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of predictive analytics concepts like classification, regression, market basket analysis and clustering.

Predictive Analytics is a vital discipline in today's data-centric world. Predictive analytics is a branch of data-mining used for forecasting and modeling using historical data. In simple terms, predictive analytics means using quantitative methods and data mining to derive insights from historical data, and then drawing on those insights to shape business decisions and improve business performance. In this tough global economy, sloppy decision may lead to great financial loses. So, leading organisations are turning to predictive analytics to compete and thrive.

It is widely used in industries like insurance, medical, credit industries, online shopping and retail industry.

Applications are accepted on first-come, first-served basis.

Course fee: Without accommodation, the course fee is INR 22000(including service tax). The course fee is inclusive of one set of course material, refreshments, breakfast and lunch. There is free transportation by IIT bus between Chandanagar, Hyderabad and IIT Hyderabad is available.

Course fee, for those who need accommodation is INR 25000(including service tax). The course fee is inclusive of one set of course material, refreshments, breakfast, lunch, accommodation in hotel like Swagath Paradise, Chandanagar, Hyderabad on twin sharing basis and transportation between hotel and IIT Hyderabad by IIT bus.

Course fees can be paid by two methods:

1. Course fees can be paid through Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Hyderabad. Filled application form along with the Demand Draft has to be sent by post to the course coordinator at the following address.
