XLRI Gears Up to Commence New Academic Session for 2014

XLRI commences sessions for the year 2014

June 11, 2014: XLRI - Xavier School of Management is all set to begin the new academic session 2014-16 on 16th June, 2014. A total of 480 students of the three flagship programmes: Business Management (BM - 180 students), Human Resource Management (HRM - 180 students) and one year General Management Programme (GMP - 120 students) will be joining the illustrious student fraternity of XLRI.

Also, 14 students in Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), 16 students in Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM) have enrolled themselves for the doctoral programme and 56 students have been selected for the Business Management Evening (BME) Programme.

The new students will be welcomed at an inaugural function at XLRI in presence of all the current students, faculty and staff members. The welcome ceremony is to be addressed by Fr. E. Abraham, S.J., Director of XLRI and Prof. Pranabesh Ray, Dean- Academics at XLRI.

Fr. E. Abraham, S.J. comments, "We are elated to welcome a new batch of aspiring achievers in our institution. The students of the new batch are from diverse academic streams as well as from varied professional backgrounds. XLRI has always strived to offer an education regimen to its students which goes beyond a mere degree and aims at grooming them as responsible leaders for the society at large and concentrates not only on knowledge development, but also on personal, spiritual and social development."

XLRI has drawn up a Special Orientation Programme for the new students to update their knowledge before regular classes commence.

Prof. Pranabesh Ray comments, "XLRI is known for its academic excellence as well as instilling in its students the right values through courses, activities, events and the environment it creates. A unique feature in the first term will be the Village Exposure Programme and the Outbound Programme. Both the programmes have been designed to create awareness among the students of life in rural India, as well as the importance of team spirit. Such an integral and value-based formation will impel the future managers to be innovative, competent and creative leaders."
