At the World Education Summit 2015 held in Delhi on August 21 and 22, 2015; Andhra University bagged the first prize for its report on 'Enhancement of Employment through Skill Development'.
The participants at the event discussed proposals on enhancing education both at the school and higher education levels.
AU VC Prof GSN Raju, who was one of the panelists speaking on assessment, accreditation and evaluation of higher education at the summit, said the meet was attended by more than 100 universities.
The AU VC thanked the university staff for their support and urged them to ensure better rankings in the coming years. "Our aim should be to break into the top 100 universities in the world," he said.
When asked if the university was still focused on getting central university status, Prof Raju said, "Right now we are concentrating on gathering funds for the university."
