By Anusha

If you are one of those who eat, live and sleep fashion then you certainly would read all the fashion magazines, follow the trend, read the blogs about it etc, but you might not know how to get yourself in the world of fashion.

You might have a lot of questions that you can't find answers to, for instance, are you going to a university to learn fashion? Or will you? Do you wish to? Is it important? What if you don't? Do you still get a suitable job?

So here are some different paths to get into the fashion industry:

1) Get a degree:
If you are serious about a career in this industry then you might as well consider enrolling yourself into a university that can offer you this course.
A degree will provide you with historical and contextual knowledge that one might not get if other ways to the fashion world is taken. Also studying at a university will let you collaborate with a lot of people.

2) Getting into a private college:
Private colleges will offer courses specific to a particular subject. These are certification courses. If you want to work in fashion retail industry then The Fashion Retail Academy is apt. They provide both full time and short time courses. This will help you have a career in retail.

3) Get a post graduation degree in specialisation:
You can either enroll for an undergraduate degree in fashion or study a general degree and then specialise. It will give you skills to develop and also an edge when it comes to finding a job.

4) Contemplate an apprenticeship:
Perhaps you can't wait to get started and you are no longer interested in studying. You want to start working then apprenticeship can be considered. An obstacle would be to find an apprenticeship and then to focus to grow in the field.

5) Just go for it:
If you think you have all the necessary thing you require to start your own business then go for it! If you are just out of the school then it might be difficult to get opportunities. Work experience will act as a step to get good opportunities.

At the end of this, here are some valuable words for all those who aspire to shine in the fashion industry:

Forbes says, "Work hard, engage with every aspect of your course and make the most of networking opportunities."

Matthews says,"I think people who do things for themselves always stand out - whether it's customising things or making their own clothes, getting any experience they can making things for themselves and others is great. Young people can really easily set up a blog and write about their opinions and what inspires them."
