UPTU entrance examination: 17k students appear out of 30k

17k students appeared for UPTU entrance exam

Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), had conducted the entrance examination for admission for MBA and MCA courses across Uttar Pradesh.

Only 17,000 students appeared for the entrance examination, which was held on 27th April 2014.

A total of 30,000 seats are available for admission to MBA and MCA courses.

More than 400 colleges affiliated to UPTU offers Management programmes.

The reason for declining the number of students for entrance examination, is increase in course fee, lack of jobs and lack of facilities.

The university on its part is planning to increase industry exposure and provide better placements for students to reverse the negative trend of vacant seats at colleges. The Uttar Pradesh Technical University is set to kick-start three new schemes in order to inculcate positive attitude and confidence among students.

"A tie-up with foreign universities is on the cards. Faculty exchange programme with international universities is another novel scheme being introduced," Dr R.K. Khandal, UPTU Vice-Chancellor, said.
