Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has geared up to conduct Geo-Scientist and Geologist examination for the academic year 2014. Eligible candidates can apply online by logging on to the official website of UPSC.
The Union Public Service Commission has been established under article 315 of the Constitution of India. The commission consists of a Chairman and ten members.The terms and conditions of service of chairman and members of the commission are governed by the Union Public Service Commission (members) regulations, 1969.
The commission is serviced by a secretariat headed by a secretary with two additional secretaries, a number of joint secretaries, deputy secretaries and other supporting staff.
Eligibility:
Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for interview/ personality test.

Candidates are required to apply online by using the official website of UPSC. Brief instructions for filling up the online application forms have been given.
Note:
The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-admission certificate, two weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-admission certificate will be made available on the website of UPSC and candidates can download their certificate from there. No admission certificate will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid e-mail ID while filling up online application forms, as the commission may use electronic mode for contacting them at different stages of examination.
