UK to reduce VISA norms for Indian Students

The number of Indian students going to aboard to pursue education has come down significantly in the last couple years.

In order to facilitate VISA process to Indian students easily, UK government is planning to introduce a "passport pass back" facility to Indian students.

In this facility, an applicant can get back his passport shortly after the submission of forms, once the necessary scrutiny is over and the rest of the VISA process can continue.

This new process will enable the students to get his / her passport before VISA.

To attract more students, the UK government is now trying to woo the students with these new measures.

According to the reports, universities in England have witnessed a decrease in the number of international students for the first time last 29 years. Government has made the strict VISA policy and regulations, which created aggravation among the international students.

The UK government has also planned to set up new rules for the students working after the completion of their studies.

Now students applying for graduate programmes can extend their visa to be able to work in areas related with their academic programme, informed Kumar Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner for Western India and Director General for UK Trade and Investment for India.

Reports state that, there are over 1,000 Indian companies in UK in terms of India's contribution to UK trade.
