Tuition Free Universities in Finland for International Students

Some universities in Finland offer tuition free education for all students enrolled in Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral level programmes. This is applicable for all students including domestic, international and exchange students.

This is because, the University and higher education in Finland is funded by the State through Ministry of Education, and hence, students enrolled in regular degree courses need not pay tuition fees.

The students union here charges a membership fee of around 50 euros per term. Though membership is compulsory for those studying their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, it is not mandatory for students pursuing their doctoral studies. They may join the student union if they wish.

International students can study without paying tuition, however, they have to pay the expenses of everyday living, travel, insurance, housing, food, books, etc.
