Studying in USA continued to be on the hit list by the Indian students, particularly for students from Gujarat.
The success rate of visa and number of GRE (Graduate Record Examination) takers clearly indicates that most of the students from Gujarat have started opting to study in US.
According to sources " India recorded an increase of 6.1% registration in the year 2013-2014 and is expected to shoot up by 8% in 2014-2015 (September to August)
While in Gujarat, number of students opting to study in US is likely to go up by 10%. According to rough estimates, 5000-6000 students go every year to US from Gujarat. "This year there has been increase of 12% in visa applications and is expected 10% rise in number of students," said an official from Advising Centre of Education USA, an initiative of US Department of State.
"Earlier there used to be 20% rejections in visa applications but in last three intakes, the success rate has been almost 100%. It is also because of increase in GRE takers as it allows one to present his best score," the official added.
