Clarifying the rumors of the entire Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE Tier-I) 2016 being re-conducted, the Staff Selection Commission denies re-examination. The SSC stated that the CGL examination was held in a fair and transparent manner, and there will be just one re-test.
The re-examination is being held for the second shift (bacth-II) of August 27, 2016.
In a statement, SSC chairperson Ashim Khurana urged the students not to be affected by a "propaganda" by "vested interests".
The results for tier-I shall be declared on November 8, 2016.
The selection process for this examination will be conducted in 4 tiers. The candidates would be selected solely based on merit and competency.
The CGLE Tier-I examination was held across the country between August 27, 2016 and September 11, 2016 except in Srinagar, where it was held on September 25, 2016. The examination was held in 44 batches in 99 cities across the nation. About 38.04 lakh candidates registered for the examination where only 14.99 lakh appeared.
The SSC Chairperson also gave out statements regarding the examinations which were closely monitored on a near real-time basis. He said that the examination was "elaborate arrangements."
"Except for one standalone incident at one of the venues at Bhagalpur, which was effectively neutralised at its inception stage and had a 'zero impact' on the entire examination process, the examination in the remaining 43 batches is totally sanitised and sacrosanct," the statement added.
