SRCC, Delhi University Placement: Average salary is Rs 6 lakh

SRCC commences placement for the year 2014

Shri Ram College of Commerce, which is affiliated to Delhi University, has witnessed an annual average salary package of Rs 6 lakh to the students in its first phase of placements for the academic year 2014-15.

The highest salary package for this year is expected to be Rs 15 lakh. The SRRC had commenced first phase of placement for the undergraduate students of B.Com (Honors) and Economics.

"Students started to register for placements in the second week of August. So far, around five or six companies have visited and 40 of our students have been placed. On an average, the packages are Rs.6 lakh per annum. We are expecting the average to go up to Rs.15 lakh. The companies that are yet to come usually offer this much," said B.K. Goyal, who is the faculty-in-charge of placements in SRCC.

Firms like consulting, risk management, banking and financial firms have offered jobs to the students.

"Last year many students got placed in India itself for Rs.15 lakh. We are sure it will be the same case this year too," Mr. Goyal said.

In 2013, around 325 students were placed, this year they believe that at least 450 students will get job offers.

The SRCC college will hold the placements process in three phases, 1st during August-September, 2nd during December-January and 3rd during April-May, They have divided firms into different zones. According to the placement rules, candidates who have already been placed need not appear for the lessor-zone firms and they can appear for higher-zone firms.
