Kochi, Sept 29: The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit at Kalady has been accredited with an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
An eight-member NAAC team visited the university and its eight regional centres to value the learning, academic and governing activities, a press release here said. It was the fist university in the state to get a grade; the release claimed.
Former Vice Chancellor of Kavi Kulaguru Kalidasa University, Prof Pankaj Chande was the NAAC peer team leader. NAAC team produced a report after valuing the activities at main university centre, and its regional centres and the grade was based on this report.
The NAAC Peer team includes Prof Indrani Chakraborthy, Prof A Joseph Dorairaj, Prof Murali Desai, Dr Jasraj Singh, Dr Shree Kishor Mishara, Prof Kesab Chandra Dash and Dr sujata P Shanbagh.
