The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has declared the result of State Service Mains examination on Thursday. In total 130 candidates qualifed in the exam. The results for those candidates who had appeared for the exam will be available at the official website www.mpsc.gov.in.
When was the exam held?
The exam was conducted in two parts, prelims and mains. The prelims were conducted in April 2016 followed by the mains in September 2016. In boys category, Bhushan Ahire from Nashik, has topped the exam and in girls category, Poonam Patil has topped with a total score of 507 points.
Sub-Collector through MPSC
According to available reports, a recommendation of total of five candidates have been made by the MPSC for the post of sub-collector. Besides Ahire, Shrikant Gaikwad, Sanjay Kumar Davle, Bhasake Sandeep, Neelam Bafna have been selected for the post of sub-collector.

- Visit the official website www.mpsc.gov.in
- Click on the 'results' tab under 'competitive examination'
- Click on the link 'State Services Main Examination - 2016- Final Result'
- A PDF file will open containing the details such as roll number, name, category, marks and recommendation remark of the candidate
- Save it to your computer and take a printout for future reference
Why was the MPSC exam held?
The examination was conducted to fill all vacant posts in the A and B group across the state which includes the police, administration and finance departments.

- Deputy collector
- Deputy superintendent of police/assistant commissioner of police,
- Assistant commissioner of sales tax
- Deputy chief executive officer/block development officer
- Assistant director - Maharashtra Finance and Account Service
- Chief officer- municipal corporation/Municipal Parishad, Tahsildar
- Deputy education officer in the state government
