Good Morning my Respected Principal, Esteemed Teachers, Honourable Guests, Cherished Guardians, and my loving friends!
I ----------, of class -------- feel privileged to share my heart on the occasion of "Republic Day".
Before I start to deliver my speech on "Republic day", I would like to thank my Claas-Teacher for exhibiting faith and confidence in me to convey my ideas, emotions, and my stand in the form of a speech, on this propitious occasion of the Republic Day of India. (take a little pause)
As we have gathered here to commemorate the 74th Republic Day of India, today. On this auspicious day, we as Indians should pledge to preserve the real meaning, status, and prestige of our country, and most significantly the trait of being humane to others. Such a vow is not only specifically meant for the day, i.e.; 26th January, but the aforesaid attributes should be inculcated in the DNA of every citizen of the nation. (emphasize the point).
Basically, 'Republic' means the supreme power. A citizen living in the Republic nation enjoys the privilege/right to elect their representatives/ political leaders to lead the country. Thus, in the Republic of India, every citizen enjoys equal rights irrespective of the status and gender to which he/she belongs.

Republic Day Celebrations in Delhi

The main Republic Day celebrations are held in the national capital, New Delhi, at the Rajpath in presence of the President of India.

On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Rajpath, which are performed as a tribute to India. The celebration commences from the gates of the Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President's residence), Raisina Hill on Rajpath past the India Gate is the main attraction of Republic Day Celebrations.

This will be followed by the presence of various dignitaries at Rajpath to celebrate the occasion. The President, Prime Minister, and other high-rank officials of India are usually included in the list of dignitaries.

As a part of the celebration, India has been hosting the head of state or government of another country as the state guest of honor for Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. This has been followed since 1950.

The President unfurls the National flag and addresses the nation with a Republic Day speech.

On the occasion, prestigious awards will be given away to martyrs and heroes, who dedicated their lives to the country. Republic Day parade is a prominent and eye-catching element of the celebration as it showcases India's Defence Capability, and Cultural and Social Heritage. The colorful displays will be exhibited by every state and depict their culture.

India is the largest democratic country that got independence on 15th August 1947 but, it declared itself a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state with the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, commonly considered the "Father of the Indian Constitution" drafted Committee for the Constitution on 25th November 1949, and finally; on 26th January 1950, it became official. (take a breath)

The world today will be witnessing the 'unity in diversity essence of India. The President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu will be elevating the Tricolour at the Rajpath in Delhi, in the presence of several dignitaries. The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations in January. This is the first time that the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt will be the Chief Guest in our Republic Day celebrations. (a little pause)

As we all know, India got independence on 15th August 1947, and our Constitution came into effect on 26th January 1950. Since then, India celebrates the day with great pride and enthusiasm. Republic Day, also known as Gantantra Diwas has an immense impact on the country. This day reminds us of the importance of having and following the Constitution and celebrating freedom as well.

To conclude my speech, I would request all to pray for our real heroes who sacrificed themselves for the protection of our country, India.
I would like to thank my Principal and Teachers, who gave me this golden opportunity to mirror my perspective on Republic Day. (take a breath)
