Rajasthan RSMSSB Main Exam 2015 Date Announced: View Now!

Shortlisted candidates of general category and reserved category can appear for the mains exam.

The Mains exam of Rajasthan Subordinate Ministerial Service Selection Board (RSMSSB) will be conducted on 24 December (Saturday), 2016.The Rajasthan Public Service Commission also announced the results for the School Lecturer recruitment in the civil services exams recently.

For patwaris, the Board had conducted the preliminary examination on February 13, the results of which were declared on March 17.

According to a press release, the Board has informed that as per the Supreme Court order, shortlisted candidates of general category and reserved category can appear for the mains exam.

Earlier, the apex court had stayed the patwaris main exam 2015 that was scheduled to be held on July 10.

As per the report of a news daily, the cutoff of OBC was above the general candidates in the preliminary exam.

However, the reserved category candidates challenged that the preliminary exam results list declared by the selection board that the board has not followed the reservation rule in selection of the candidates for the main exam.

The preliminary exam was conducted to recruit 4400 patwaris.

Who is Patwari?

Patwari means village accountant. It is a term used for a land record officer at sub-division or Tehsil level. Patwaris are the village officers.They collect land revenues and keep land records.

They even make sure that the farmers have records of their lands and tell the state government about the crops grown in that place. They are also called karamcharand kanungo.

What is the role of Patwari?

A patwari has three main roles:

  • The maintenance of record of the crop grown at every harvest. 
  • The keeping of the record of rights up to date by the punctual record of mutations.
  • The account of preparation of statistics for returns embodying the information derived from the harvest inspections, register of mutation and record of rights
