Panjab University UICET engineering admissions: 8,779 register online

Students who have applied for admission to engineering colleges of Chandigarh and Hoshiarpur will have their documents verified at Panjab University's Dr Dr SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (UICET) on July 16 and July 17.

For admissions to engineering colleges, 8,779 candidates have registered online. Out of these, 7,508 students are of the general category, 1,807 are SC candidates, 184 are ST and 836 are OBC candidates.

Around 527 candidates have applied in the 'Single Girl Child' category and 321 have applied in the sports category. About 525 candidates have applied online in Economically Weaker Sections category.

The document verification process will be conducted at Gymnasium Hall from 8.30 onwards.

UICET is conducting joint admissions to BE and BArch courses for institutes situated at Chandigarh and Hosharipur. These include UICET; University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), PU; UIET PU SSG Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur; PEC University of Technology; Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Sector 26; Chandigarh College of Architecture.

Counselling will be conducted online in three rounds. All candidates admitted to the courses are to report at the Gymnasium Hall on August 2 and 3. The counselling for spot round will be held on August 14 and the admitted candidates will report to their respective institutes on August 18.
