New policy by Bengal government for technical education

The government of West Bengal, has come up with a new policy decision with technical education department to have an integrated skill development programme with an aim to create more job opportunities.

 

The government has also decided to merge the medium scale industry with the department of micro and small scale industries and textiles. This new collaboration will provide more opportunities for industries having machinery cost up to Rs. 10 lakh.

The minister of panchayat, Subrata Mukherjee says "so far, there were no specific policy for technical education department. The decision has been taken to make the traditional technical education to be more useful and effective to get more skilled labour and to create more job opportunities for those who will not be able to get higher education."

According to the plan, the technical education department will be renamed as technical training and skill development department. In order to create skilled labourers in the field, the government will run a skill development programme. The existing technical education and training will be restructured in a way so that technical education gets upgraded with time. "Industrialists will also be benefited by this new policy," minister added.
