NEET 2016 2nd Round Counselling - Seat Allotment Released

As the NEET 2016 counselling process is in progress, the results for the second round of counselling and seat allotment has been released on the official website.

The seat allotment for the 2nd round counselling sessions has been released today, September 12, 2016. Candidates will be provided with a period from September 13, 2016 to September 20, 2016 to report themselves at the alloted medical or dental colleges against the round 2 counselling session.

The process of seat allotment for first round counselling session for NEET 2016 began on August 27, 2016.

For the second round counselling session, candidates were provided with a period of 2 days from September 9, 2016 to September 10, 2016 to exercise and lock their choice of colleges.

How to check the results?

  • Candidates have to log on to the official website.
  • Click on the link 'Result Round 2'
  • Candidates will be redirected to a new page, where they have to enter their roll number to access their results.

Meanwhile, many students and parents are still in confusion over admissions of candidates to medical and dental colleges through NEET despite clear orders from Supreme Court.

Earlier, in Maharashtra, the Bombay High Court had directed the state government of Maharashtra to prepare a additional merit list of medical admissions based on all-India applications to be called online. [Read the complete story here.]

Candidates are still apprehensive over the admission procedure. As per the ordinance passed by the President, CET is no longer the gateway to any and every medical school.

As per the official data, around 7,31,223 candidates had appeared for the examination and around 56% students successfully cleared the test as the results were announced on August 16, 2016.
