One of the reputed IIT campuses of the country, IIT-Kanpur, organised a mathematical modeling and computer simulating with applications meet. This conference was conducted by Indian Society of Mathematical Modeling and Computer Simulation (ISMMACS).
All the guests were welcomed by Prawal Sinha, general secretary of ISMMACS. The conference started with Saraswathi Vandana and it was followed by a speech of IIT-K's director, Indranil Manna, he discussed about the utility of mathematical modeling. He also spoke on creating models which would solve the problems in an easier way. He also urged the engineers and scientists to take a step forward in solving the real world problems.
In the end the vote of thanks was given to the National Board for Higher Mathematics and department of science and technology. ISMMACS founder president JB Shukla delivered the plenary talk titled 'Mathematical modeling: What it has to do with the infectious diseases'.
The conference was attended by almost 20 scientists from India and abroad and 50 research scholars from across the country.
