Manipal: Manipal University has bagged two prestigious FICCI Higher Education Awards 2015 at the summit in New Delhi.
The award university of the year was conferred for demonstrating overall excellence and significant contribution in past academic year for faculty employed, student training, research studies, improved technology for education delivery, employability, governance and infrastructure, a university press release states.
The other award excellence in employability is given away for working towards ensuring highly employable talent pool by working closely with industry.
FICCI higher education excellence awards were instituted in 2014 to recognise and felicitate achievements and excellent work done by institutions and individuals in improving the quality of higher education in India, and driving themselves and the sector towards continuously increasing levels of excellence.
Manipal University is the highest ranked comprehensive private deemed university in the QS BRICS and QS Asia rankings.
Speaking to TOI Dr H Vinod Bhat, vice chancellor of the university said, "With over 700 Universities in the country, the FICCI awards is a testimony to quality of education and research in Manipal University. This will encourage us to work even harder to be among the top 200 universities of the world".
